Sen. Dawn Euer (D. – Dist. 13, Newport and Jamestown) shared the results of her recent 2025 Constituent Survey with constituents by email on Friday, February 21.

The survey covered various topics, including climate change, healthcare access, and the impact of short-term rentals.

Climate change and environmental issues are at the top of constituents’ concerns, with 25% identifying it as the most important issue. Healthcare and cost of living follow closely behind at 17% and 16% respectively.

These are some of the issues I am working on this year. If you had to choose one of these that was most important to you, which one would you choose?
•    Climate Change & Environment – 25%
•    Healthcare – 17%
•    Cost of Living – 16%
•    Access to Housing – 14%
•    Public Education – 13%
•    Impact of Short-Term Rentals – 13%

The survey also tackles the issue of short-term rentals, with 38% of respondents saying they have a moderate to high impact on their quality of life.

How much does the operation of short-term rentals impact your quality of life on a scale of 1 (No Impact) to 5 (High Impact)?
•    1 – 20% (No Impact)
•    2 – 16%
•    3 – 25%
•    4 – 18%
•    5 – 20% (High Impact)

Healthcare services are another key concern. The top worry for 38% of constituents is the reduction of services at local healthcare facilities, while 31% say they have trouble making appointments with referred physicians.

•    Reduction of services at local healthcare facilities – 38%
•    Making appointments at referred physicians’ offices – 31%
•    Access to mental health services – 17%
•    Transportation to appointments – 10%
•    Scheduling in-home healthcare – 9%
•    Discrimination in accessing care (Race, economic, gender, or other) – 8%
•    Veteran healthcare access – 8%

The survey shows that 85% of respondents believe state-level governance will become more important during the current federal administration.

District 75, Newport) has announced that she will host a constituent meeting to share the results of her 2025 Constituent Survey on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Newport Public Library.
