Sleeping driver crashes truck into Maxum Petroleum building in Seattle
SEATTLE — A 50-year-old man crashed his truck through the Maxum Petroleum building Wednesday night after falling asleep at the wheel, the Seattle Police Department said.
Officers were sent to 1711 13 Ave. SW shortly before midnight after a caller reported someone had driven into a building.
Upon arrival, police found the truck, a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, and the driver.
Officers said the driver, who had been sleeping in the truck in the parking lot, accidentally accelerated into the building.
His vehicle was towed from the scene, and no arrests were made. The incident is being treated as a vehicle collision investigation only.
