Rinalds Pļavnieks and Mārtiņš Ķeņģis also serve on the board of LDz.

In a statement to the media, Andris Liepiņš, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of LDz, said that in making the decision, the Supervisory Board assessed the work Grinbergs, as interim Chairman of the Board, had done so far in managing change both in the company and in the LDz Group as a whole.

The Supervisory Board of LDz has identified the modernisation and development of the railway infrastructure, in particular the passenger infrastructure, the proportionality and reasonableness of operating costs, as well as the further reduction of the company’s administrative costs as the most important priorities for the next period.

An open competition was organised for the vacant position of Chairman of the Board of LDz. A total of 27 candidates applied. Candidates were evaluated in three rounds.
