Not doubting this is likely true, but Biden officials claim they really did a really competent job is just a funny headline.
Imagine being the intel guy that has spent 10 years tracking ISIS movements identifying their communications network, tracking all activities and then spending the past few years solely focused on finding this one guy, just to have officials who had next to nothing to do with the mission argue over which administration gets the credit.
Pakistan used to periodically hand over `Al-Qaida no 3s’ to the US, to take the heat off them, until Osama was killed. I guess they are doing this with ISIS-K now.
Irrespective of who is in the White house, the US is still being played by Pakistan’s ISI.
