OK. Now we only have to manage launching up to 3 rockets per week into space successfully and we are able to seriously compete with the crypto-nazi
Good old European revelling at the failures and misfortune of others.
Something everyone here seems to have in common…
P.S. there are many things we can dunk on the savages for, but space is absolutely not one of them. European space efforts are frankly pathetic in comparison to our global competition.
European space efforts are absolutely pathetic in comparison to competition honestly. Celebrating achieving something everyone else has been able to do cheaper and easier for decades is pathetic honestly. Comparing the literal boundary pushing cutting edge and the forecasted testing/failing that comes with that to basic shit is so embarrassing.
Not good enough. We need to demand and expect more. European scientists are near the best in the world. They contribute massively to everyone else’s space programs, just not our own, without the government funding or private innovation in the sector here there is literally no option for them. And shitty ignorant apologia of our governments for it like this is the main cause.
There are many American private companies who alone outcompete the entire European space industry alone. That is beyond embarrassing and we need to hold our governments to higher standards. Not lower the bar for them and tell them they’re winning.
Call me spiteful, but this gives me great joy.
European supremacy
Ok, I despise Musk as much as one possibly can but SpaceX project “Starship” is “a bit” more ambitious than Ariane 6.
SpaceX is trying to build a re-usable super-heavy launcher while Ariane 6 is “just” a really good one-time use medium/heavy launcher.
The “re-usable” part is complicated enough on its own : you have to get back boosters from stratosphere down to the ground with just enough fuel to descelerate without it dislocating into a fireball. That’s a serious feat of engineering.
But then they are also trying to make it the heaviest rocket ever built. So yeah, failures are to be expected.
The project would be pretty hype if it wasn’t lead by the worst human being on the planet for one of the worst country.
This is such a pathetic flex. You make me ashamed.
Ariane isn’t much of an EU accomplishments. It’s a french one and trying the flex on incident when musk literally send 10 times our amount up there.
That’s the level of desperation you’ve reached.
Nasa is irrelevant nowadays. Most of US space companies are private ones. As all can see their products aren’t in a good state right now. It’s a simple decision of the head of their company that can stop their venture for good, once.
ESA is still public and working fantasticly well and won’t fade away like that. US private programs can fade away like that. We might be doing way less, but we does it way better. That’s what counts.
Bots are like crazy right now over that topic on social media. That must have it a oversensitive nerve. We should continue to make topics about it.

One is a rocket that launched a satellite (of which SpaceX has launched 132 with it’s Falcon 9 rocket just in 2024). The other is a launch *vehicle* ship, meant to carry *people*.
This isn’t a great look if you need to compare apples with Clean Slate Farm apple pies. It’s very third-worldly
> Raining debris over Caribbean
It’s a fail AND dangerous for people who are not related. Thanks.
I mean we did have an 20 year or so head start than the americans, so I’m not surprised
