RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Washoe County Commission will consider a draft of a Climate Action Plan for county and community operations at a meeting next Tuesday.
The county says this is in support of their priority to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The meeting will be at 10:00 a.m. on March 11 at the Washoe County Admin Complex Commission Chambers, building A. Members of the public will be invited to present comment, both online and in person. You can provide online comment here.

The County’s Climate Action Plan is a document that outlines a collection of measures and policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It defines greenhouse gases reduction goals based on local priorities.
The commissioners will propose 126 actions to reduce emissions in buildings, transportation, land use, supply chain and waste sectors. Their plan will incorporate feedback from more than 1,000 community members and local leaders.
