  1. No fair, pulling massive amounts of valuable resources out of nowhere is our deal >:(

  2. What, the ocean? What on earth is a “hydrogen reserve”???

  3. If this is about the Lorraine deposits then it’s very old news

  4. Louder I can’t hear you over the sound of the drilling rig

  5. It feels like everytime I see a shitty article popping up about it they managed to somehow inflate the number by a factor of ten compared to last time. This week “92 trillion”, next week 1 quadrillion. I think I’ve already seen one article claiming it was 100x the world’s GDP

  6. Even though I feel we already spoke about this deposit. Don’t tell the savages, they will find an excuse to bring democracy to France

  7. Congratulations, maybe spending some of that on increased military and if you could also reduce your taxation a bit as it could help to free and boost your economy and we could get positive impact on all over Europe.

  8. Hold tight, freedom’s on the way

  9. oh look… another rare W for us… adding it to the pile…

  10. As a Pierre working in the clean tech sector: fuck hydrogen.

Get lost with your snake oil.

(Also, quite ironic if our clean energy alternative to nuclear would be yet another fossil source :D)

  11. God seems to favour the french now…eh better than our other enemies

  12. Guess we know who’s gonna be the next to join the US ‘one way or another’.

  13. “The full extent of its impact is only beginning to surface”

    😬

  16. French news doesn’t return anything new for “France + hydrogène” so I fact-checked it, it’s old news, at least from 2023.

[Here’s the article from the picture](https://dailygalaxy.com/2025/03/france-uncovers-the-worlds-largest-hydrogen-deposit-worth-a-staggering-92-trillion/)

    > Beneath the soil of Folschviller, in the Moselle region, scientists have uncovered a staggering 46 million tons of natural hydrogen

    > Experts at GeoRessources and the CNRS are already investigating how to safely extract and store natural hydrogen.

The CNRS is a serious scientific institute, they have an [article from July 2023](https://lejournal.cnrs.fr/articles/un-gisement-geant-dhydrogene-en-lorraine) explaining they did found hydrogen however according to [Reporterre (ecologist news site)](https://reporterre.net/L-hydrogene-le-fantasme-du-Grand-Est) it’s unclear how much can be exploited but the city is definitely banking on it.

So not fake news but possible it’s exaggerated. Maybe the city is looking for investors 🤷🏻‍♀️

  17. Has France unlocked some sort of cheatcode this week? Seems like every two hours they have a massive win

  18. According to ChatGPT:
    >Using the 46 million tons estimate for the Lorraine hydrogen deposit, we can calculate its potential value based on current hydrogen market prices.
    >1. Estimated Market Prices (per ton)
    Grey Hydrogen: $1,000 – $2,000 per ton
    Blue Hydrogen: $2,000 – $3,000 per ton
    Green Hydrogen: $3,000 – $7,000 per ton
    >2. Estimated Value of 46 Million Tons
    At Grey Hydrogen Prices:
    $46B – $92B
    At Blue Hydrogen Prices:
    $92B – $138B
    At Green Hydrogen Prices:
    $138B – $322B

    >If white hydrogen can be extracted cheaply and efficiently, it could be valued closer to green hydrogen prices due to its low-carbon footprint. That would put its worth in the range of **$138 billion to $322 billion.** However, the actual commercial value depends on extraction costs, infrastructure, and market demand.

  19. What is with France? Have they been getting a buff recently??
