THE King and the Princess of Wales will return to Commonwealth Day duties today after missing last year’s event due to cancer.
Charles, 76, will use the ceremony to issue a call for unity in “uncertain times” and to “restore harmony”.

His message to the 56 Commonwealth nations comes amid tension over a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.
The King says in the Westminster Abbey order of service: “In these uncertain times, where it is all too easy to believe that our differences are problems instead of a source of strength and an opportunity for learning, the Commonwealth’s remarkable collection of nations and peoples come together in the spirit of support and, crucially, friendship.”
Charles’ comments come after he offered a second State visit to US President Donald Trump.
However, the tycoon is said to have “gone cool” on Britain since the King posed shaking hands with White House row rival Volodymyr Zelensky at Sandringham days later.
Meanwhile, the tariffs war between Commonwealth member Canada and the US is “particularly on the King’s mind”, reports said.
Charles and Kate will be joined at today’s service by spouses Queen Camilla and Prince William, who led royals at the 2024 ceremony.
Princess Anne will also be there.
Doctors say the diplomatic King has made encouraging progress a year on from his cancer diagnosis.
Kate revealed in January that she is in remission and “looking ahead to a fulfilling year” during a visit to the London hospital where she received treatment.
