She [Spencer] said “the affair became clear” after she compared notes with Dr Jarman’s husband, Tom Jarman, who then told her that his wife had multiple sclerosis.
The Countess states that this information was “volunteered” by Mr Jarman because he “plainly believed” that it was relevant to his wife’s behaviour and the fact she had embarked on an affair. It was considered “a relevant and integral part of the picture”.
At no point was it suggested to her that the diagnosis was a “secret” or that she should not mention it to anyone else, she said.

  1. This man got a redemption arc to which he was completely not entitled because of the tragic death of his sister. He seems incapable of learning from prior behavior. Going hard after the mothers of his children has already come back to bite him rather hard, and it can do so again. Jarman is delusional if she thinks he’s going to stand by her side while she has MS. The moment things become complicated or burdensome to him he will abandon her.
