TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Topeka Special Olympian is one of five with Special Olympics Kansas in Italy competing in the Special Olympics World Winter Games.
The Winter Games are being held in Turin, Italy this year from March 8 to March 16, bringing together over 1500 athletes representing over 100 countries.
Five athletes with Special Olympics Kansas are in Italy to compete in the Winter Games.

Henderson’s father tells 13 NEWS his daughter, Bekah, and Brady Tanner competed in the 25- and 50-meter races in Sestriere, Italy, west of Turin near the French and Swiss border, and both qualify for the finals in snowshoeing on Thursday, March 13, and Saturday, March 15.
Tanner, Elsner, and Henderson are all members of the Special Olympics Kansas Hall of Fame.
Henderson says Bekah is enjoying her time in Italy and meeting athletes from different countries.
