NASA, SpaceX to launch Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center for Crew-10 mission

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. – SpaceX and NASA are preparing to launch three astronauts and a cosmonaut to the International Space Station from the Kennedy Space Center on Friday night.

According to SpaceX, this will be the second flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched the SES 03b mPOWER-e mission. The Dragon spacecraft used in this mission previously flew NASA’s Crew-3, Crew-5, and Crew-7 missions to and from the ISS.

Additionally, CNN says this mission is expected to bring Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams back home to Earth after their expected weeklong visit to the ISS in June aboard Boeing’s Starliner turned into an almost 10-month stay.

The launch is targeted at 7:03 p.m. and can be watched live on the video player above.

Once at the ISS, the crew will spend time on the orbiting laboratory, SpaceX said, to conduct “new research to prepare for human exploration beyond low-Earth orbit and to benefit humanity on Earth.”
