I feel like the lying about having an unspent conviction is not really needed if you just pretend to fulfill the commitment agreement regardless!
Well if you can live on ~£250 per month then yeah go off but most can’t lol
Or just stick to your UC commitments
This is completely boomer-pilled. There are programs to help get felons back into work that UC works with. Not to mention UC gives barely any money, not enough to live on without other help. Also, if you’re caught lying your payment can be revoked. I would say taking shots at people on UC, who are usually the most vulnerable people in our society is pretty shitty, but the biggest problem with this meme is that it’s not remotely funny. What’s the follow-up? A joke about pronouns?
As someone living on UC and PIP, it’s not enough to live on, the amount of rent they cover gets you slum housing, even in the middle of the countryside, all the social housing is adapted for the elderly and unless you need a wet room, you’re not getting it, or you have to live with house mates if you’re not disabled, which means adults can’t always have custody of their children.
Please stop demonising people on welfare. We aren’t getting it easy and most of us don’t want to be here. It’s mentally damaging to see shit like this everywhere and feel like you’re the countries enemy by virtue of being alive and not being able to have a job.
I’ll stick to my £897 after tax every week thanks
The solution in any interview for unwanted employment is complete openness and honesty:
*”The truth…well, the truth is that I’ve had a long-standing problem with heroin addiction. I’ve been known to sniff it, smoke it, swallow it, stick it up my arse and inject it into my veins. I’ve been trying to combat this addiction, but unless you count social security scams and shoplifting, I haven’t had a regular job in years”*
Not really a great British meme is it 🙄
Careful. Those UC scroungers are coming for your cookie too.
I’m crippled af. Would give my left nut to work. Posts like these really make disabled people feel great. I’d take a bullet over my UC anyday. Never been locked up either 😂
Where’s the meme
What is this? The mid to late 2000s? Are we blaming the disabled and benefits claimants for the financial crash again? Is benefits street back on the telly? Are George Osborn and David Cameron about to butcher our social safety nets so we can give all our money to their millionaire mates?
Christ I’m sick of this rhetoric.
How do people live off this and why would they want too. The struggle is never ending surely?
So benefits fraud if your plan?
The jobcentre would be making you go to cv workshops and hold their own recruitment events where you go to a jobcentre with your cv and do speeddating style interviews with employers who give feedback who uc are involved with so for a start this just wouldn’t realy work for very long.
Once your caught you’d loose everything and possibly get an actual conviction for fraud, a crime of dishonesty that would legitimately prevent you from getting alot of jobs,
So I guess in a long winded way you’d end up with a criminal conviction and no job, but sorry no benefit or money.
>complying with uc so payments will continue without sanction
Doubt. I was on it when it was JSA and the sanctions were just random.
People don’t realise that programmes like PIP were created to ease the burden on the NHS by giving people money directly to manage their illnesses and lives. It really enrages me when it’s classed as welfare when it’s actually part of the social care structure.
What’s with the right-wing “memes” astroturfing around here and aiming for the classic old “those on benefits are lazy shiftless crooks”?
who wants the benefits system further slashed?
What’s this have to do with the prison service exactly? Feels like a botpost
Made by gammon, for gammon.
I’m mentally Ill and get universal credit. I’d give anything to work or have a routine.
Meme tastes like gammon
Nah I just buy properties in the UK, rent them at ridiculous rates with my pals (we got da whole market) and then fuck off to the Caymen Islands, living off UK wage labour tax-free 😃😃
Why is it always us on benefits getting kicked. The amount we get is a pittance at best but mine is just over 50 a month because my wife works. Thank god for pip and ESA but fuck me sideways I’d love to have a job. Having to move back in with my mother because rent is unaffordable and what we make combined still leaves us short 500 a month. Any complaining about low wages maybe rage against the twats keeping wages down not those of us who got shafted by a crappy system that doesn’t care.
Make universal credit great again
I’m genuinely confused if this is meant to be benefits bashing humour or r/antiwork type “fight the power” nonsense.
If you CAN work, get a job. Don’t be a loser. Please downvote me. Thanks.
The hilarious thing is the benefit bashers won’t be happy even if they get their way. I mean they never are, it’s always about making sure somebody else is being degraded and immiserated more than themselves, and so they always want more suffering for their “lessers”.
But more specifically because forcing literally everybody into work sounds good until you have multi-million pound contracts being lost because somebody in your company had a manic episode and blew up the relationship with the client (an actual example I’ve heard). They’re trying to push ahead with the clear nonsense of “every single condition that can prevent you from working, can actually be accommodated for the purpose of work” for purely monetary reasons, but they’ll be begging to go back to the way things were when they’re actually living in their little Protestant work ethic “utopia” and they find out the hard way that the people who can’t work, generally actually know themselves much better than total strangers who are working backwards from the motivated reasoning of wanting a lower tax bill, and are correct in their assessments of themselves.

But I like working.
