Captured this today at Blackfriars.
Funny enough, moments before filming this, I was sulking with some friends about how soulless London has become over the past few years. We said goodbye, I headed to the trainstation to go back home, and saw a bunch of teenaged punks (about 15-16, I'd guess), calling themselves 'The Chalamets' having a jam-session.
Honestly, I had to laugh. Maybe London isn't that soulless. Maybe I just stopped noticing it, because of how crowded, hectic and stressed everything is these days.
Anyway, hearing a bunch of kids authentically and unapologetically living out their garage-band dream just for the sake of it really gave me hope for London's future.

The things a little bit of sunlight can do to the city
When feeling like the way you do; it’s never London, it’s always you.
I moved to London from the US’s east coast back in November for a job. Never lived outside the US before. I didn’t go do the tourist-y stuff until this last week when my father visited, but I am glad I did. Tower Bridge, Natural History Museum/British Museum, London Eye… I gained a (new?) appreciation for the city, and I’m hoping to stay as long as I can.
I write this as I lay in bed with a cold from all the Tube travel…
It’s never that bad to begin with
Now go to Croydon
It is an okay city. Too big for my tastes. If I was single I would probably move somewhere else. But on the bright side, there is always something to do in London.
I love it… always have. Couldn’t live anywhere else
I invite you to East Ham, Tottenham, Croydon this is the real London.
I love this spot… it’s not too far from Tate Modern
Sent to me from heaven, Sally cinnamon you’re my world.
If the rent was 400£ cheaper a month I would agree
Anyone notice a mad high tide today? Chiswick Mall and Putney Embankment were impassable
This city is a drug
I have to stay though that monstrosity in the middle of the opening frame is horrendous. I’m a fan of brutalism but that’s just plain ugly.
London is a fantastic and beautiful city where old meets new. For a city as huge as London, it’s run surprisingly well, has good public transport, is walkable with many public spaces, and (to someone from the US) is surprisingly safe to walk around in most of the city. And I say this as a person who doesn’t generally like big cities.
