The photographs of the 12-month-old appeared to show the little boy at various milestones in his life. In the first, he can be seen sucking his thumb while relaxing in a garden. In the adorable snap, Ernest can be seen wearing a personalised Chelsea football strip. In the second, the little boy posed with his back to the camera while at a play centre, while the third appeared to show the young royal taking part in an Easter egg hunt. The final snap showed a sweet moment between Ernest and his older brother, August. The toddler could be seen offering Ernie a kiss on the head in the photograph. The eldest son of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank was born on 9 February 2021 and is thirteenth in line to the throne.

Among those to share their best wishes with the little royal was Zenouska Mowatt, who commented on the photograph, ‘Happy Birthday, Ernie.’ British presenter Poppy Jamie posted, ‘We love you Ernie so, so, so much.’

While she is not a working royal, Princess Eugenie has, in recent months, appeared to take on a slightly more high profile role amidst the absence of Kate Middleton. Insiders speaking to MailOnline claimed Charles wants Eugenie and her sister Beatrice to help add some glamour to events across the summer period. Sources said, ‘The King is looking to bring in some fresh blood and he’s looking to Beatrice and Eugenie. He thinks that they’ve grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset.’

Days ago, Eugenie was the picture of radiance in a soft cream gown as she attended a Buckingham Palace Garden Party alongside her cousins Prince William, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall.

Princess Eugenie took to Instagram after the event, sharing a number of pictures and writing, ‘Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday to meet some special individuals at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party who have gone above and beyond to support their local communities and the country.’
