Wyoming Valley West School District had 14 students present projects at the regional meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. More than 500 students in grades seven through 12 from 36 different schools participated in the event held at Wilkes University.
The following students earned the following awards in the mathematics category: First award with perfect score and the Junior High Excellence Award: Jonathan Bolan, eighth grade. First awards with perfect scores: Emily Bolan, 11th grade; Parker Cardillo, 10th grade; Payton Cardillo, 10th grade; Yara Khatib, ninth grade; Savannah Rafuse Franco, ninth grade;Madison Stanislow, ninth grade; Julia LeValley, eighth grade. First awards: Gavin Chu, seventh grade; Patrick Schneider, seventh grade; Sam Whalen, seventh grade; Justine Alapack, eighth grade; Emmanuel Dagdag, ninth grade. Second award, Ariel Chu, 11th grade.
