The teenager, who has been exposed to plenty of Championship minutes in his debut campaign at Carrow Road, converted the opening goal as Denmark’s youngsters started their Euro U19 qualifiers positively in Hungary. 

Schwartau profited from astute positioning after a set-piece was nodded into his path to convert from close range. 

Iceland goalkeeper Jon Solvi Simonarson’s own goal was enough to secure victory, with Schwartau playing the entirety of the contest. Denmark U19s are back in action against Hungary’s youngsters on Saturday. 

City midfielder Anis Ben Slimane made his first appearance for Tunisia in over a year as they beat Liberia 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on Wednesday afternoon. 

Slimane, who turned his initial loan spell at City into a permanent deal in January, hasn’t featured for Tunisia since the 2024 African Cup of Nations – when they failed to progress beyond the group stages after defeat to Namibia and draws against Mali and South Africa left them bottom of Group E. 

Injuries have prevented his involvement for Sami Trabelsi‘s side, but he returned to play 89 minutes before being replaced by Nader Ghandri.

City midfielder Elliot Myles has been named amongst the starters for Wales U19 side set to face England in Bangor on Wednesday evening (7pm kick off)

Myles, 18, earned his senior Canaries Championship debut earlier in season, coming on as a late substitute in January’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.  

Young City left back Vatan Ozcan, who signed his first professional contract at Carrow Road last month, played the entirety of Turkey U17s 3-2 defeat to Switzerland in their Euro qualifier on Wednesday afternoon. 

Ozcan, 17, made his eighth appearance for Turkey’s youth side having previously represented England at U16 level. 

The defender has enjoyed a successful campaign for City’s U18s, with his performances earning recognition from the U21s. Ozcan has now played on two occasions in Premier League Two for Olly Lee’s side.
