Coalition of the willing: Reactions on the Ukrainian side • FRANCE 24 English

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a virtual meeting on March 15 to marshal more pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to accept a ceasefire deal being pushed by US President Donald Trump. ‘From Ukraine’s perspective, it is positive that the leaders of this coalition of the willing align with Volodymyr Zelensky’. But ‘so far, they haven’t taken any concrete steps to apply real pressure,’ our correspondent Gulliver Cragg reports.

  1. DISAPPOINTMENT TO FRANCE 🇫🇷 MACRON NAPOLEON, BORIS JOHNSON, URSULA VON DER LEYEN & DUDA & OLD JOE BIDEN GLOBALISTS NEOCONS IMPERIALISM

  2. If Putin really wanted peace he would pull his troops out of Ukraine. Peace would be immediate. In fact he wouldn't have invaded Ukraine in the first place.

  3. trump and putin to hold talks this week. Here’s how it will go: trump will say, “vlad, tell me what to do and I’ll do it. Whatever you say”. Putin will say: "You have done so much for Russia beyond my wildest dreams, my boy, but there is more and we will get into it".

  4. Everybody is slowly but surely by passing Trump. And this is just after a few weeks in office. Little by little America is shrinking on the world stage, in the markets and diplomatically. The world run on trust, everything else is replaceable.

  5. Not sure how these Europeans endless meetings and war talk amongst themselves is putting pressure on Putin😂 boggles the mind 🤷🏾‍♂️
If Starmer could pick up the phone and say the make the same threats to Putin directly ( then leak the phone call to the media) _ that would be something 😂 but alas, better to cowardly shout from the Zoom conference 😂

  6. I support Ukraine but Zelenskyy acts like a spoiled brat. He demands everything from everyone. It takes US some time to get Ukraine to the table, so it will take some time for Russia

  7. Let's make it clear. Russia and Putin is scum and completely unreliable. Nothing new, it's been like that for a long time. Unfortunately the US cannot be considered a reliable partner anymore, not even a stable democracy. That means Europe is on its own and that requires development of nuclear weapons. The main problem is not technology as much as it is a financial system for maintenance, security and upgrades. In terms of security Europe has to calculate with foreign influence (hybrid warfare) that can change popular sentiment. In a worst case scenario this means that when one country gets attacked another European country with nuclear weapons will not help because of the risk of getting involved in nuclear war. This is a weakness that Putin would most certainly calculate with in his coming imperial ambitions. Therefore the only good solution is distributing responsibility to a small nuclear capability (10-20 warheads) that is country based which can and will be combined with all of the other European countries to make a big nuclear deterrence. In the nordics Sweden could be a place for such small storage covering Denmark, Finland and Baltics. Poland most likely wants their own as well, Germany is a given, perhaps the Czech, Croatia and Greece. This kind of system would make it much harder for Putin to threaten and attack.

  8. Ukrainian troops have completed their offensive in the kursk region, retreating after several months of active hostilities, the american newspaper states, The New York Times. The withdrawal of troops took place in the face of a fierce onslaught by russian forces, which forced ukrainian units to leave most of the previously controlled territory.

  9. Starmer you yourself go and keep pressure don't involve others also join you. You can go and fight alone

  10. Yes to Coalition of the Willing — Europeans remember what Churchill said about the fatal delusion of buying "peace in our time" by "throwing small States to the wolves." (How did that work for you Mr. Chamberlain?)
