  1. That one cretin just about sums up the whole movement there,

“**wouldn’t you prefer views of the countryside**”

The biggest urban, most populated city in England, is the complete opposite of a rural countryside setting

It’s like saying to someone that just bought a car,

“Well….wouldn’t you prefer a boat though??”

    No, I wouldn’t dumbo!

  2. In a sub called /r/londonpics… what are they expecting?

  3. I feel like if you don’t want to see pictures of London you could just avoid a sub called LondonPics

  4. I’d imagine half of them are yanks who seem obsessed with this racist bullshit narrative and the UK is being taken over by immigrants/Muslim people.

Similar views seem sadly popular online, at least.

  5. The amount of hate the phrase “hits different” gets isn’t enough

  6. There’s a lot of accounts on reddit essentially russian bots tasked with poo pooing London and other places just to sow division and fear.

  7. They assume London is the same as their shit chavvy local town center but just bigger and x100. Which is not the case. They also assume all immigrants are criminals or shady people. Which they are not.

I feel safer and find more interesting shit, pretty much everywhere in London than I would in a random depressing regional town with small minded aggressive dumbasses..

  8. I wonder how many are Russian bot accounts, seems like the kind of petty BS they’d do.

  9. Only salty bitches would go on a sub called londonpics pics and complain about London

  10. Yep. Many people’s experience of London is being shoved onto a coach to see some museums, a waxworks and then sit in a terrible restaurant before being squeeze into the worst theatre seat possible.

Maybe they go to a shopping street, or M&Ms world and pay above market prices for shit.

London shines when you step outside of the tourist containment areas. That said, I really enjoy doing the occasional tourist thing on quiet days.

  11. All capitals are hated by the provincials – it’s a compliment.

  12. I don’t get it because there’s other towns and cities in the U.K that don’t look so great!

  13. Better than brim at the moment . From the rubbish collection POV

  14. All posted by people from the shires who have never left nor will ever leave their little villages

  15. The picture itself isn’t much tbf, it could be anywhere. But yes, London does get a lot of stick from the rest of the UK, some warranted, some unfair.

I don’t live in the capital, but generally like London, I was down there a couple of weeks ago, stayed in Paddington, mooched around the Southbank, went to Wimbledon to see Notts County’s worst performance of the season and lose 2-0, it’s all good stuff…

  16. The word “dirty” when applied to London is usually a euphemism.

  17. It’s the nature of the internet. If you put up a daffodil you’d get “No it’s not, it’s a rose.” “It’s not yellow enough.” “It’s AI generated.” “I have allergies, I hate this.”

  18. Most of them haven’t ever been. Probably never left their backwards northern shit hole.

The comments usually read like a Daily Mail article. How many times were Muslims and ‘Mayor Kahn’t’ mentioned?

  19. And they can keep commenting about it from their humble abode in bumfuck nowhere

  20. considering moving into london again.. shit i thought i was done but probably not

  21. Pretty everything and anything gets hate online from some people

  22. These people are not OK.

Hope they get better, love from Tower Hamlets.

  23. Always the out of towners showing their envy. I love it. Keep your shithole Northern cities, you’ll never be as great as us.

  24. Probably a combination of Russian bots and Reformers from up north 🙄

  25. Ahh London has attracted bitterness and jealousy for about as long as it has been around. London’s not bothered, neither should you be.

  26. Uhh, it’s r/LondonPics, mate.

Seriously though, I find it beautiful. Of course, the countryside is a different vibe but this level of hate… *Sigh*.

  27. the fact is London or any major city is great if you’re minted, not so much if you live paycheck to paycheck. No amount of shiny lights can help if all you’re focused on is survival

  28. Let them say what they want. I visited London in November and loved it so much that I still miss it and have arranged to be back later this year. Your city is incredible.

  29. I’ve watched W11 slowly decay these last 10 years. Notting Hill is a shell. I don’t go to Ladbroke Grove anymore. London is stagnant. No infrastructure or development. Just old money oligarchs extracting rents. But that always was the goal in mind now, isn’t it?

  30. It’s almost always people who:
    a. Don’t live here.
    b. Whenever they have been here they’ve only ever frequented overly touristy places.
    c. Hate (insert minority group here).

    They’re not serious people.

  31. It’s not really hate. It’s just posting for upvotes.
