Nothin but love for the Greek people . Speak a few words of Greek to them and they treat you like family ♥️🇬🇷 Big up to Kefalonia.
It’s not free. I’ve paid that for that ouzo with my taxes for decades.
Been there, done that
i love my malakas.
I was at a greek restaurant for my 18th birthday with family, the owner gifted me a big bottle of Ouzo to take home, and he gave my younger brother one as well, because his 16th was only 3 days later ;D
Ευχάριστο μαλακας
I remember on vacation in Greece me and my friend ate some fish in tavern once, and Greek owner was incredibly nice and friendly. We lived in this village for a couple of weeks, and we needed to pass the tavern every day to go to the beach. The tavern guy would greet us every time we pass, shouting our names etc. We felt sorry we couldn’t eat in his tavern occasionally, we were students and had zero budget. But of course in our last night we had a dinner in this guy’s tavern again.
It was more than decade ago, still remember this guy’s name and face.
This is facts
Don’t forget the complimentary dessert….
Mr. Krabs offering something for free? Unrealistic meme
It has to be free because it’s disgusting… even the cloudy stuff.
When I was in Taormina most restaurant owners tried to offer me some free limoncello, they see a guy with a blonde by his side and they have this instincts of acting like those two Italians from Lilly and the Vagabond.
Una faccia una razza.
I have seen only one Greek restaurant in Italy, and it was owned by Albanians
Some years ago I was in Crete with my gf for vacation. Next to us it was a German, same age, couple with the usual one dish and one salad split in two. They couldn’t comprehend how much we were eating, drinking and laughing. They couldn’t understand that food, especially in a tavern, for us are socialising rituals. That was until we started passing them free shots and small bottles of Raki and invited them to our table. We made such a good company and among other things we exchanged views in social, political, economical stuff. We gapped the years long “hostility” between our countries, took group photos and promised that one day we may meet again. Such good times.
In Kalamaki, Crete 12 years ago, we‘ve been invited to every fucking tavern one by one, to drink ouzo(„just one“ they said, couldn’t have known it‘s one bottle). It’s a small village and most life happened at the beach. People there know you by day 3. We were absolutely wasted after a third but kept accepting the invitations lol.

I know this guy. He’s got a picture of my brother and himself hanging in his kitchen.

Did he say free?
