How the fuck does this even happen there’s such a big team involved in the surgery
Clap for the NHS guys 👏👏👏
Don’t know if this was a cultural circumcision but if it was this is why they should be illegal. Mistakes happen and children die.
NHS is terrible for making simple mistakes over and over .. even now there’s four receptionists but when you phone them they ignore the phone because they can turn the ringer off .. I rang them from the waiting room and watched them just sit around talking to each other…
The envy of the world. This is horrendous I hope he pulls through.
I wonder if they’re new paediatric nurses because that dose for a child would raise eyebrows for any established staff.
I work in the health field and this is very sad. Let me trying and explain the article for folk who aren’t familiar with this area. There are two things in this article and they may not be related.
A) A serious medical error was made which saw a child receive an overdose of paracetamol
B) A premature child has brain damage
Now, these could be related, but the folk writing the articles realise they may not. See that they don’t state A caused B.
Very premature infants (born at 32 weeks) are at a particularly high risk of brain damage. This child was born at 33 weeks.
It’s a very sad case, and it’s an awful mistake that should not have happened. But we don’t know whether the paracetamol overdose is related to the child’s current condition.
What a fuckup! Hope baby makes it.
