It’s not as stupid as it sounds. Basically Denmark is asking for more F-35s (not so unreasonable given Russia), which will be good for Lockheed Martin getting billions but which would get cancelled if Trump invades Greenland.
Option 1: Cancel F-35 and buy Rafale
America Invades – America gets Greenland
America doesnt invade- Denmark has 2nd rate jets for the next 15 years
Option 2: Buy F-35
America Invades – America gets Greenland
America doesn’t invade – Denmark has 1st rate jets for the next 15 years

After having an EU defense opt-out in place for ages, and Greenland leaving the EU, they understand they are probably alone on this one.
