  3. Bro, you’re **still** using Poles. Honestly, cringe! The world moved on to Romanians a decade ago. They’re more cost efficient, they don’t smell like cabbage, and they’re not Catholics. Recently, the trend is Moldovans.

  4. Honestly, while the last gov absolutely sucked ass – Poland is (nowadays) somehow capable to do what southern europe and the Balkans have been failing at for over a decade now: protecting their borders instead of just waving people through to Germany.

    But yeah aside from that its just the usual “saviour of europe”-complex and the “we’re totally better than the rotten west”-cope.

  6. I am fine with Poland larping as the main characters. We are autistic with a high main character syndrom ourselves, so we can’t really judge them too hard.
    It was a bit annoying when they were screaming how they are Ukraine’s biggest supporters and will do whatever it takes to stop the russians, while we are all not doing enough.
    But then Ukrainian farmers needed a new market route for their grain due to literally Russia sabotaging the international grain trade routes by force, and the tune of “unconditional support and commitement” dispersed a nanosecond later. They banned ukranian grain imports, and even demanded that EU protects EU markets from an [Ukranian invasion](https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/polish-farmers-rally-warsaw-against-eu-policies-ukraine-imports-2024-02-27/).

  17. Poland is working on building Europe’s largest military by the end of the decade. We can only hope the succeed, thus fulfilling the country’s real purpose: to act as an anti-Russian buffer.

  18. poland is indeed a nice buffer zone/active war zone for when the war between nato and russia starts. so, when it comes to war, they are basically the frontline, which is nice, because in the cold war it was not them but us being in that position. the most important battles in this war will most likely happen in poland. and maybe they are a bit nicer when we rebuild them after the war.

  19. Volker Rüher who was the German Minister of Defense during the time of the NATO eastern expansion allegedly said that he would prefer to defend German Borders in Poland… it’s a Feature not a Bug.

    And to my Polish friends I say: Sorry but NATO member ship for Germany also came at the price of us being the potential Battlefield for WW3 for 40 year. The opportunity to pass on the baton was just too good to not take it.

  23. I have nothing against Poland or Poles and I doubt most Germans do. The thing is that regular Germans don’t really think about Poland at all.

  31. They are right, that’s why Germany was quite fond of the idea to let Poland join NATO.
    After expecting nuclear armageddon to start in Germany for almost 50 years, the Poles volunteered to take this expectation to Poland instead. Who would have denied them that?
