  5. theres something so bleak about a military journalist interviewing people amid their shattered homes that was almost certainly caused by their sides shelling eagerly expecting them to tell about all sorts of atrocities, only to somehow be disappointed when it turns out your people were completely left alone, something rare in warfare.

Not to take anything away from this video, but I can’t watch these videos without seeing it in this context- at some point in the coming decades , I am one of these people that they’re interviewing….. here in the United States, and instead of it being Ukrainians, I’m speaking with Canadian or Mexican troops.
