The drone market will be. Not so much as people carriers though, unless you mean medevac.
Useless characters to fill the useless character limit because bots actually are better at writing prose than at being concise these days
Like are we talking autonomous piloting? Because considering the sheer number of automotive accidents I doubt most countries will allow regular people to fly, license or no, and if they did they would make the tests hard enough that it would severely restrict your market.
Never going to happen.
First off, most people are too irresponsible to pilot an aircraft, and the barrier to becoming an actual pilot is too high for most people. They can’t keep from texting at stoplights. It would be a safety nightmare. Half can’t even pass the medical exam.
In addition, flying cars would either be insanely expensive, or insanely unsafe. We’ve seen what the Musks of the world consider quality and safe, and it would mean raining broken cars with cheap parts and half baked software. At this point a car crash involves a few cars in a predictable roadway. Flying cars would be crashing onto houses, schools, and playgrounds. Crashing a car means you could get hurt, crashing a flying car means you have a slim chance of survival.
And lastly, the balance of safety to fuel efficiency to cost just isn’t there. Parachute weight vs charge times/gas vs $500k for the base model means no one will buy one. A 1975 Piper Cherokee is much more cost effective and safer. Flying cars are a gimmick and have been for many years.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have flying cars be a thing, but our capitalist, lowest-bidder, 10 second attention span society just isn’t ready.
No it won’t. Flying cars are bad and should never be a thing. Imagine just letting this shit fly and fall on people. Our tech sucks. It fails all the time. Now it’ll be above houses?
Lol we can’t figure out how to legislate automatic high beams, you think we’ll do better for flying cars? Bahahahahahaha

I don’t want flying cars: I want boring things like fast, frequent, reliable, well-connected trains that comes so regularly I don’t have to check a schedule. I want dense, walkable, bikable cities. I want a society where cars are not the default and drivers are not absurdly pandered to.
Flying cars will never be a thing. We can barely keep cars on the road with the amount of morons and seniors driving today, but yeah, let’s go into the air where we cant have lanes or traffic signals…
Seems realistic. They’re just adaptable swarms of drones big enough to carry people, though I doubt they’ll ever let people do more than select their destination.
We can’t go one day without multiple accidents in most cities, We could have flying cars a few years ago. But we are VERY far away from them being a thing in any meaningful way.
Ceo of soy bean company says that magic bean market will be bigger than corn over the next two decades. There is so many hurdles to overcome before we have commercially available flying cars let alone self driving. I would trust an AI over a person for a flying car though. Imagine drunk driving one of those
