A friend of the King said: “He’s got a puritanical work ethic. It goes beyond any concept of a ‘working week’. He doesn’t understand the concept of downtime. In a world where he has had difficult times in terms of public perception and popularity, work has always been his protection and safe space. Even at his worst times, it has been an anchor for him. It goes deeper than people realise.
“If you work for him, the only time in the week you can relax is 11am on a Sunday when he will be at church. Other than that, you need to be ready from 8am until midnight, when he might call you at any time.”

Hope he pays well….
That’s deeply sad.
Oh if you work for him expect to be available for him until midnight ? Oh my. Imagine if he sent emails at 5 am. Funny how this works. 🤣 he has a work ethic but others are just American bullies. Got it got it.
There was a furore last year when they advertised a job at below the legal minimum wage.. it was pulled and they said it was a mistake. It was later advertised at the legal minimum wage.
I guess it’s nice he gives a sh t, when he could just coast because of age and illness, and no one would even hammer him for it.
His mother, father and uncle (LMB) had a huge sense of duty, and he was raised by the Queen Mother, who was all about that.
So I’m not shocked he feels that way.
Who knows, maybe the doctors gave him a time frame on his cancer diagnosis, and he feels he has to hustle on count of that.
The Queen was the same way. For me this is just a weird quirk that both her generation and Charles’s generation have in common.
If you’re a millennial or a genz you’ve probably noticed this, those older generations equate work with morality, they weirdly think the more you work the better a person you are. It’s all bullshit.
That’s why I get irritated when people bitch that William doesn’t work enough. William is an elder millennial. He’s simply not going to equate work with being a good person like his father and grandmother do/did. We’re not doing that shit anymore going forward. Everyone, rather a king or a burger flipper deserves a fair and sane work life balance.
