An employee has died following a workplace accident at the factory of Luxembourg tyre manufacturer Goodyear on Saturday, police have confirmed.
The Grand Ducal Police confirmed that the fatal accident at the factory in Colmar-Berg, which was first reported by RTL, occurred on Saturday morning and that the victim was a male employee, but did not disclose any further details.
Officers from the police’s technical unit and representatives from the country’s labour inspectorate, the Inspection du Travail et des Mines (ITM), have visited the scene, the police added. An official investigation into the circumstances of the accident has been opened.
