The late Princess of Wales was famously dubbed a ‘Sloane Ranger’ by the UK media. One of her Sloane-style moments was a 1985 hospital visit, where she wore an identical grey blazer. Her infamous BBC Panorama interview with Martin Bashir also saw her rocking a classy blazer, white top, and sheer stockings. Speaking about her unique fashion choices, late fashion designer, Virgil Abloh, told British Vogue, “She was a strong individual, who despite her position, had her own personal taste and it came out through the clothes…very out of the way from what she was supposed to wear. It’s an inspiration.”

This isn’t the only time Markle has copied Diana or Middleton. Recently, she also wore a Northwestern t-shirt on her Instagram stories—identical to the one Diana famously wore in 1996. The late Princess was gifted the t-shirt as a gift from the university in 1995, when she helped raise funds for its cancer center. In a surprising coincidence, Markle is said to have graduated from the same university in 2003, as per The Independent. She also channeled one of Diana’s green outfits in her final royal appearance. She wore a striking emerald green Emilia Wickstead dress, similar to what the late Princess wore during her first pregnancy. She has also rocked the late Princess’s Cartier bracelet during royal engagements.

It’s not just Markle; even Middleton has channeled Diana on several occasions. She once copied Diana’s Sloane lady look when she dressed in a classy gray ensemble for her 2022 solo trip to Denmark. She also paid tribute to Diana when she wore a light blue polka dot dress at St. Mary’s Hospital after the birth of Prince George in July 2013. She wore a similar red dress while introducing Prince Louis outside the hospital on April 23, 2018. Both the outfits closely resembled the dresses Diana wore in 1982 and 1984, when she introduced Prince William and Prince Harry at the hospital.
