Moldova has sent another contingent of military personnel to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to participate in the peacekeeping mission, the Moldovan Ministry of Defense announced.

“A new contingent of the Moldovan army has been deployed to the EUFOR ‘Althea’ mission in BiH. The group consists of 18 professional military personnel who will carry out security operations, guard facilities, and patrol within a designated area of responsibility for six months,” the Ministry’s statement said.

The Ministry also stated that participation in international missions provides valuable experience and opportunities for cooperation with military personnel from other contingents.

Moldovan soldiers will serve within the Romanian contingent together with troops from Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Turkey.

The first Moldovan military contingent was deployed to BiH in September 2024.
