  8. According to google the term “gypsy” is considered derogatory. The EU Commission in this case says;

    >Lets end antigypsyism for good.

    So, in that context “ending antigypsyism” could mean they are for the use of the slur if you think about it, and are for “gypsyism” which again, is derogatory.

  23. Sometimes I look in envy at gypsies. Must be awesome to live a life without slaving away at your day job to keep a roof over your head and feed the family. And to just let your 14 year old wife take care of the kids.

  25. All jokes aside, it’s strange that the slur word for a group is part of the sociological term for prejudice against that group: “gypsy” and “antigypsyism”. It’s the same in German btw, where the slur is “Zigeuner” and the corresponding term is “Antiziganismus”. That’s like if prejudice against black people was called “anti-n-word-ism”.
