  1. Fuck paywalls, full article here: https://archive.ph/WbzjO

    The beginning of the article:

    > Their lives intersected around a playground on a sunny Friday evening in Kryvyi Rih, a city in central Ukraine.

    > Kostiantyn Novik, 16, had come with his cousin to hang out with friends. Serhii Smotolok, a 57-year-old welder, was nursing a beer nearby on the terrace of a restaurant, unwinding after his workday. Radislav Yatsko, 7, was sitting in the back seat of his parents’ car as they drove past the playground, headed home from an afternoon at their country cottage.

    > In an instant, the lively scene turned to carnage: A Russian missile struck near the playground, raining shrapnel that tore apart everything in its path.

    > Kostiantyn and his cousin were killed instantly, Kostiantyn’s leg torn off by the blast. Mr. Smotolok was struck by missile fragments and bled to death on the terrace. Radislav died as shrapnel blew off part of his skull.

  2. >The attack last Friday killed 19 civilians, including nine children, making it the deadliest strike against children since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, according to the United Nations. The assault, the worst on Kryvyi Rih during the war, sent shock waves across Ukraine, which declared a day of national mourning on Sunday.

Truly despicable for Russia to attack near a playground. They are either criminally negligent or purposefully targeting civilians. 164 civilians were killed last month.

Just goes to show that Russia has no interest in peace and will continue to steal territory no matter the cost in innocent Ukrainian lives. Truly evil.

  3. “Reddit user polymute getting the grand idea to actually read the sub rules for once in their life so they stop clickbaiting the article titles” challenge (impossible) (gone wrong) (dozens injured)

  4. Absolutely horrible that children and other innocent civilians are dying in the Ukraine.

Can anyone remind me how many Palestinian innocents have died over the past couple of years?

  5. How long until it comes out that there was an Air defence system on the other side of the park or a barracks across the street or something? Everytime one of these stories about Russia killing a bunch of civilians comes out it turns out that there was a military target in the area. Russia isn’t Israel they’re fighting a well supplied state military that is grinding them down so they can’t afford to waste missiles on blowing up children for nothing.

  6. Indiscriminately killing children, bombing hospitals, deliberately killing doctors and rescue personnel and destroying homes and civilian infrastructure has been completely normalized over the past year and a half (by among others this very news outlet no less) and it’s kind of jarring seeing media decry it in one case while defending or downplaying it in another, simultaneously.
