Working away in Birmingham unfortunately

  1. Just when you thought Birmingham couldn’t be any more of a dump.

  2. Have to wonder what’s so special about that spot to make it so popular

  3. Are you sure the sign hasn’t just been dumped there, too?

  4. If this is anything like my neighbours this is proably a couple of weeks worth for 2 houses. Nothing to see here.

  5. One thing that has surprised me is that nobody has set fire to all this rubbish.

  6. I knew before I even zoomed in on the signs that it would be Birmingham.

    My home town, everybody!

  7. All jokes aside, it’s an absolute disgrace that a city allows this to happen in the UK.

  8. Why can’t I tip the flies though? I imagine they’re working pretty hard there.

  9. Birmingham is currently experiencing bin worker strikes. They haven’t had recycling collections since January. Bin bags are all over the city.

  10. What I find infuriating with these piles of rubbish, is the amount of shit you see that isn’t household waste, like mattresses. People are just fly tipping at this point

  11. Fine all the people that have been dumping, have enough money to give the bin folks a rise.

  12. Ugh, can’t believe I live in Brum. Absolute shithole.

  13. Well if you’re going to be fined up to 500 quid you might as well dump everything you possibly can

  14. Yep, let’s not fix the problem. Just put a sign up and it’ll be fine 👍

  15. , I feel sorry for the people living in the house right next to it

  16. This is just bad behaviour on the people, go to the tip or use a designated dump zone.

  17. Would one of the good people of Birmingham please ELI5 why bags are being dumped on the street, and not stacked in the homeowners’ back gardens? Or is that happening, and the rubbish we see on the news is from flats?
I hope it gets sorted soon for you, by the way.

  18. Is the whole waste chain on strike, I mean are the waste transfer station workers out too?

  19. Can’t imagine what it like to have this outside your house.

There’s certainly going to be a massive growth in the rat population.

  20. I don’t see why someone doesn’t hire a big tipper truck and dump a load of it in front of whoever is responsible – council office, or the bin contractor. I don’t know the ins and outs but I find out who is being an arse about it and do a PR stunt.

Wouldn’t scratch the surface but you’d make a point.

  21. So here’s the thing – my area is affected but we’ve had about three collections during the strike. Why not this road? Surely if they are doing collections they should try to cover everybody even if very slowly?

  22. What on earth is fly tipping?? American over here who loves this sub. 😬

  23. You should be taking your rubbish to the waste yard where the rubbish collection trucks are kept and dump them inside their boundary.

Plus i’d be looking to sack all the strikers for the health and safety issues they are causing. This has been going on months.

    This country is fucking weak.

  24. Our neighbors literally do this and we have filed a complaint so many times and even have a video of them discarding. I don’t know what else to do.

  25. Ahhh Birmingham… I’m away for a month thankfully for the easter break but I have basically no hope for the rubbish to be gone when I’m back in May

  26. I know people like to take shots at Brum, but this isn’t the norm.

Absolutely incompetent and financially bankrupt City Council + Bin strikes and a lack of availability at the local tips, means you get shit like this.

We brought an extra bin last year so we’re managing to store up some in the back garden, but it’s getting really fucking annoying.

  27. Maximum ? So make sure I tip £10k worth of rubbish to make it worth it ?

  28. We should put up signs everywhere else advertising Birmingham to all the rats. At least the rest of the country will be rid of them for a while.
