The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a public assist call on Blue Spruce Lane in Malta, leading to the arrest of 55-year-old Donovan R. Grose of Ballston Lake.
Grose was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, after reportedly violating a “no contact” provision of an order of protection by emailing the protected individual.
The charge was elevated to a felony due to Grose’s previous conviction for criminal contempt within the last five years.
Grose was released on an appearance ticket and is awaiting further proceedings.
Under New York state law, which was revised in January 2020, the charge does not qualify for bail consideration under the current circumstances.
