Once in a contested urban war I saw at a distance out in the open, a lone enemy soldier seemingly drunk out of his mind in a street corner about 3 blocks away, holding a bottle in one hand and his weapon on the other hand, shouting obscenities and swearing for some minutes that seemed like an eternity. Sure enough a rifle crack sounded and a unknown shooter killed him instantly. His body remained unburied for days and finally after a few days passed, a civilian came and poured gasoline over his bloated body and burned his corpse. Never forgot that grim scene.
