Just spent a week on the east coast. Made an almost 4 hour round walk to find the remains of an abandoned tank. Whether or not the walk was worth it is questionable, but I found it cool.

  1. That is very cool and a decent walk in nice weather is always worth it

  2. Any tank experts around? Is that the husk of a Sherman we are looking at?

  3. Ah, but did stand next to it making tank noises and going “Boom!”, pretending to fire the main gun?

  4. That would make a challenging video for one of those Youtube restoration channels.

  5. I’ve always wanted to check out one of these tank carcasses. I’m sure there’s one in a field in Hampshire/Dorset, but I’ve never been able to find the details again.

  6. If you enjoyed the walk then it was worth it. Plus, tanks are cool.

  7. Definitely worth it. Often all you need is a reason to walk. The walk itself is where a lot of the enjoyment is 😊

  8. Been there. The walk was worth it for you, and that’s all that matters.

  9. The MOD are all official with their red sign and all, but which dildo put the fucking signpost in upside down?

  10. An old Comet tank! Apparently, the reason for it sitting there has been lost to history. I suppose it either sank in during training or was used as target practise for aircraft.
