To someone who can read Japanese, it’s a bit weird. The top says ‘unlucky day’ but in a kind of Google-Translated way, and the sign on the right says ‘underground (subway)’, which is strange because the view outside the window is clearly not underground. It probably wasn’t made by a designer who can speak Japanese.
But if that doesn’t bother you, you do you.
I’m 49 and I’d happily wear that, but then I’m as uncool as it gets, so that’s probably not a great recommendation. I’m sat here typing this in the “You’re freaking meowt!” cat shirt that I wore to bed, so I acknowledge that I have no right to say anything about anyone’s fashion choices.
Of course, with any Japanese items, always check that the text doesn’t actually say “PENIS!” or “I love having sex with cats!” or something. That shirt is basically “Bad day” and some train signs so you’re safe, haha.

If people stare at it, it may just be they’re trying to read it.
Sometimes I forget I’m wearing something unusual and can’t remember why people would be staring at me.
When you’re 18, you worry about what everybody is thinking of you; when you’re 40, you don’t give a darn what anybody thinks of you; when you’re 60, you realize nobody’s been thinking about you at all.
