Meghan Markle’s latest podcast debuted last Tuesday, where she admitted the scary health battle she faced when she was pregnant , though it’s no secret that she’s already well-versed in the podcasting world. In 2020, just a few months after stepping down from their Royal duties, Meghan, 43, and her husband Prince Harry, 40, inked a lucrative contract with Spotify.
The deal, worth an impressive $19 million, was for their venture, Archewell Audio, and marked one of the biggest agreements for a new podcast show.
Industry insiders at the time praised the Sussexes’ collaboration with Spotify as an ideal match for the streaming service’s plan to broaden its global reach, boasting 320 million monthly active users. As part of the agreement, the Duke and Duchess were tasked with creating and hosting “programming that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world” spotlighting diverse voices through their podcasts, but the series failed to hit its projected heights, with reports even claiming that some of the podcasts staff ‘needed long-term therapy’ after its cancelation.

Their first offering was Archetypes, a 12-part series hosted by Meghan featuring a star-studded guest list including Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, and Mindy Kaling.
However, in 2023, less than a year after its launch, it was confirmed that Archetypes would not be returning for a second season. Spotify and Archewell Audio announced they had “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” reports the Express .
The contract for the former “Suits” star’s podcast was reportedly terminated due to a lack of a substantial audience. Over two years since the release of Archetypes, Meghan has now introduced her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, in partnership with Lemonada Media.
The podcast offers listeners the chance “to be a fly on the wall as Meghan sits down for candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business.”
New episodes from the eight-part series will be released on a weekly basis.
“I’m so proud of what we’re creating and the candid conversations that I’m able to have with other female founders as we unpack the twists and turns of building a business,” Meghan expressed in a statement.
She added: “Through my friendships and relationships, we’re able to dive into the type of insights that everyone wants to know as they’re building a business, and that I’m able to tap into as I’m building my own business with As ever.”
It’s been a bustling few months for the former actress following the launch of her As ever products in conjunction with her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.
