She kicked things off with a feature on Claude Monet, focusing on his atmospheric paintings of the Thames. “Monet was fascinated by the light and smog of London,” she wrote, noting that he painted some of his most iconic works while staying at The Savoy—where he had views of both Charing Cross and Waterloo Bridge. “The way he captured light on water is incredible,” she added. “The seriality of his work feels almost photographic—like an 1899 version of how we capture moments today.”
