The Department of Migrant Workers has announced new job opportunities in Malta and Albania.

According to a report on Unang Balita, Malta is hiring Filipino caregivers with monthly salaries ranging from €1,000 to €3,500 (approximately P64,000 to P250,000).

In addition to caregivers, Malta also needs chefs or cooks, waiters, machine operators, sales assistants, accountants for auditing firms, and bus drivers.

Meanwhile, Albania is looking to hire around 20,000 workers in the hospitality sector.

DMW Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan noted that the Philippines is one of Malta’s preferred partner countries for employment.

Malta is currently exploring a bilateral labor agreement and a government-to-government hiring framework with the Philippines for care workers.

In a report by GMA Integrated News’ JP Soriano, the DMW reminded applicants that government-to-government job applications should be processed directly through their office, free of placement fees.

For job opportunities involving partner recruitment agencies, the DMW advised applicants to apply only through legitimate agencies listed on their official website. — Hana Bordey/DVM, GMA Integrated News
