France could pull the plug on Pornhub this summer

1. I don’t think it’s going to work, either minors are going to use their parents ID if they’re sneaky enough, or they will just visit other websites.

   You’d have to completely ban every 18+ websites from the France’s IP internet for it to work (at least without VPN)

3. All these places trying to ban access to porn…

   Why is nobody trying to ban access to religion instead, when religion is used as a tool to suppress people’s nature and cause them to hate those who doesn’t follow their thousand year old method of doing things?

   The internet responds to censorship the way it responds to damage.

5. I’ve always wondered why legislators were ready to do anything to keep minors from watching porn with potentially bad influence later in life, while proposing absolutely nothing to protect the girls that are trafficked, exploited and raped on film in front of the world

   Not that we shouldn’t do both but the insistence on minors only is quite odd

6. How many people would be willing to enter their IDs on a fucking porn website to confirm that they are an adult? Not many, I think. They are much more likely to bypass the government censorship via other means that don’t compromise their privacy. The way these politicians’ brains work is really… something else.

7. This sort of thing is so stupid. If we’re concerned about how watching porn might impact kids, maybe we should make it easier for parents to have time and energy to be involved in their lives. Maybe if kids were taught about sex and relationships and actual human interactions by other channels, watching porn might not be all that damaging
