The entire scaffold over the front of the Library collapsed at just before 8am, just as my manager was unlocking the shop, having walked right along that pavement literally 20 seconds before. Incredibly no-one has been hurt….

  2. Guessing the tarps caused this, probably should have rolled them up when they’re not in use

  3. This happens if the scaffolders didn’t have enough gear to get going in the morning.

  5. Maybe that’s their way to declaring that the building work is complete and the building is ready for use

  6. Ironically that scaffolding is there because bits of masonry were in danger of falling off the library

  9. these things are built to very rigorous scaffolding standards

    well the fronts not supposed to fall off for starters

  10. I live right next to it. Didn’t notice until I stepped out the door this morning though. Had to walk ages for the 73 :((
