The 2S43 “Malva” is a very new system, first unveiled to the public around 2020, and as of 2023–2024, it’s still undergoing testing and evaluation within the Russian military. Only a handful of prototypes or pre-production units are known to exist, with no evidence of large-scale deployment. Its integration into regular units appears to be either extremely limited or hasn’t happened at all. Combat use has been almost nonexistent it’s barely been seen in Ukraine, and when it has, it’s usually in staged scenarios for propaganda or field trials. Overall, production numbers are extremely low, and the system remains rare and experimental.
As with most modern russian equipment, only a few have been made – mostly to parade around pretending to be the new standard.
