I feel much more glad when they just choose to surrender
Funny how they always seem so much smarter and well-behaved when cold, hungry, and alone.
It seems to me that this could be a tactic by the Russians. A Russian surveillance drone can observe where the surrendee goes to reveal Ukrainian positions as they come out to take the POW.
The Russian was armed with a rifle on a sling throughout most of the video……..
I’m curious at what point he ditched the rifle and how it was communicated to him.
Honestly, i would have done the same thing, but that’s extremely risky given the predicament and the fact Russian’s have been known to “false surrender.”
What’s also risky while following the drone is the potential of encountering another Russian since it’s obviously “grey area” with questionable occupational control……the likelihood of them supporting the self-surrender is probably pretty low considering how rare these videos are.
