Prince Andrew was sombre this afternoon as he drove away from Windsor Castle after attending a memorial service for his late father.

Senior members of the Royal Family had gathered at the Berkshire estate on Friday to remember the Duke of Edinburgh, who died aged 99 on 9 April 2021.

His funeral was held at St George’s Chapel four years ago yesterday, on 17 April 2021.

Today was clearly an emotional affair for those in attendance, with a smartly-dressed Prince Andrew looking solemnly on as he left the estate in the early afternoon.

The Duke of York, 65, wore a black suit and tie for the memorial, which he paired with a simple white dress shirt.

It was unclear who else had attended the event, but reported claimed other senior royals were in attendance on Friday.

Prince Andrew’s outing comes a week after his accuser Virginia Giuffre broke her cover since she hit headlines claiming she had ‘four days to live’ due to a bus crash.

Ms Giuffre, 41, was spotted when she pulled into a feed store north of Perth, Australia, in a blue Chevrolet Silverado earlier in April.

She was wearing $600 Tiffany cat eye sunglasses but the facial injuries she claimed to have suffered in a recent bus crash were not obvious.

When Ms Giuffre spotted Daily Mail Australia she wound down her window, raised her right middle finger and said: ‘Get the f*** out of here.’

Daily Mail Australia had been leaving the feed store car park after making inquiries about Ms Giuffre’s whereabouts when she arrived.

Ms Giuffre had not been seen in public since posting a controversial hospital bed photograph following the bus crash on 24 March.

She claimed she had been injured in the school bus crash in her Instagram post from her hospital bed, saying she wanted to see her three children for a last time.

She wrote: ‘I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology.

Virginia Giuffre posted on Instagram about the crash on March 24, which occurred ten days after she was listed at the court near her $2m former family home

‘I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time. My heart is shattered and every day that passes my sadness only deepens.’

However, Ms Giuffre’s spokesperson has appeared to pull back from her comments, claiming that she meant to have posted the statement about her crash injuries on her private Facebook page instead of her public Instagram account.

Regardless of the facts of the crash, the events have firmly put Ms Giuffre back in the international spotlight, making an uncomfortable situation for the royal prince.

Andrew was previously forced to pay out a settlement reportedly worth millions of pounds after Ms Giuffre alleged that paedophile Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her across the world to have sex with the prince when she was just 17.

Ms Giuffre had claimed he had sexually assaulted her three times, claims the Duke denied. The settlement did not involve any admission of liability on his behalf, and he denies any sexual contact with her.
