Slovakia posted a current account deficit of EUR 667.4 million in February 2025, a sharp reversal from the EUR 66.9 million surplus recorded in the same month last year.

The shift was primarily driven by the goods account, which swung to a EUR 331.5 million deficit from a EUR 350.8 million surplus in February 2024.

Additionally, the primary income shortfall widened to EUR 297.8 million from EUR 211.3 million.

On the other hand, the services surplus rose to EUR 29 million from EUR 9.8 million, and the secondary income gap narrowed to EUR 67.1 million from EUR 82.4 million.
