Paperless as in less paper, rather than zero paper, I suppose. That is of course unless the instruction booklet comprised of only one piece of paper
More profit for them but no drop in costs for the consumer
The smart thing to do would be to print that on the side of the box. But then people would miss it and leave 1 star reviews about there being no instructions.
~~Did you really think that was a personal QR code made *just for you*? While noble, there was no need to obscure it for privacy concerns!~~
OP clarified that *Reddit* does not allow images with QR codes to be uploaded, changing the nature of their reasoning and making my take wrong-headed.
Gosh darn it! I really wanted to see the instruction manual
Are you afraid we’re going to scan the QR and read the instructions?
They mean paperless in terms of paperwork (instruction manual). Not paperless packaging….
The copy should have been “We are using less paper!” Then subtitle “View full instructions digitally”
Does that mean you didn’t get the little Ninja recipe booklet then? We’ve got a few knocking about. All contain pretty good recipes for each device we have.
“Less paperful”
They are specifically talking about the instructions, not the packaging. What else would they realistically be using for packing? Do you also expect going paperless means that none of their employees are allowed to use toilet paper?
Printed booklets have far more impact on the environment than unbleached, non printed recycled paper used for packaging.
The instructions are paperless, the packaging is easily recyclable and low environmental cost paper
You’re really not getting this are you OP? Despite everyone explaining it clearly.
‘Paperless’ relates to a big massive book of instructions in 36 languages that you’ll never read anyway.
What’s got your knickers on a bunch is the ‘packing material’ which has moved from a vast amount of non recyclable plastic to recyclable cardboard. This is a good thing. Accept they are trying to help the environment and move on with your day, cook a pizza in your new airfryer.
What would you prefer they use for packaging, if not the paper.
> I’m not sure they understand the meaning of going paperless
I’m quite sure they do. You, on the other hand, clearly haven’t a clue.
I find this funny. Not sure if that’s your intention or not lol
It is indeed less-paper than an instruction manual would have been
They tried emailing it to you but they were out of estamps for a parcel that big

First they took our plastic, and I did nothing…
