  1. Trans people make up less than 1% of the population and yet there is much hate and targeting of them. It’s similar to how gay people were targeted a few decades ago.

These culture wars activists who mobilise against them I bet never even encounter a trans person.

    Let people live their lives.

  2. Does trans refer to a person who has started changing their gender medically or someone who identities as opposite gender? I personally have no problem with people living their lives but would prefer not to share public toilets with someone who has not at least started medically transitioning.

  3. Trans women can be excluded from both toilets, men and women. Cis men can object to the presence of trans women on grounds of privacy and dignity, cis women can object on the same grounds too, this is why people are talking about “third sex” toilets for trans people. It’s dystopian

  4. To be clear, this ruling does not remove any protections for trans people. There are very strong protections under the law for transgender people, and nobody should think that it is in any way comparable to what is happening in the US. What it does mean is that the protections given to women are limited to biologically female women, while the protections given to transgender people are covered by a different article in the same law.

  5. This is a truly abysmal ruling and I have no idea why it has come about. In 2025 we’re still talking about this? Trans people have been around since before it was called ‘Britain.’ Since before the language that word was invented in was invented.

  6. Sane ruling. Womens spaces exist for a reason and we should protect them, the amount of them that have been impeded upon is shameful. What a strange back slide the last period has been for women’s rights.

  7. Why do people hate trans people so much? I don’t get it. Why do people believe propaganda that has no basis in reality. Most people I’ve talked to have never even met a trans people and for some reason they believe they can make an assumptions on an entire minority group without meeting them. Cis people do something and they just know it’s not the entire group of people doing it and it be absurd to believe an entire group of people is awful because they do something terrible.

People still talk, meet up with, date, and even marry men even though his men commit like 93.8% of sexual offenses. They also commit most of the crime, have started most of the wars, and have mostly been the dictators throughout history. I just don’t get it.

  8. The ruling was a clarification, not a change. Turns out, single sex spaces were ALWAYS off limits to members of the opposite sex. Stonewall and their allies, through a campaign of fear, bullying and harassment, somehow managed to gaslight all major institutions and public bodies into thinking the law was more complicated than it was.

Trans rights are still protected, it just turns out that those protections don’t include being treated exactly as if you have literally changed sex.

  9. Wow. Now trans women are at risk of being raped and abused in men’s toilets. Either they will be outed, or they cannot participate in anything in public spaces – unless gender neutral toilets are available, or they are with a lot of friends are with them for protection.

Now Cis women who look butch, or *any idiot* thinks have “masculine features”, are even *more* at risk of being harassed, told they are male, and kicked out of women’s changing spaces. This is happening already.

    This rule protects no one.
