Industrial production in Moldova rose by 1.2% year-on-year in February 2025, rebounding from a 2.5% decline in January.

This marked the first uptick in industrial activity since August 2024, driven by a strong recovery in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector, which surged 18.1% after a 9.0% drop the month before.

In contrast, output in the manufacturing industry declined sharply (-7.5% vs 1.5%), while expansion in mining and quarrying moderated significantly (4.8% vs 141.1%).

On a monthly basis, total industrial production jumped 14.5%, reversing a 20.8% contraction in the prior period.
