What's had you twiddling your buttons this week?

  1. I finished Keep Driving’s first playthrough this week and I enjoyed it. I didn’t really click with it until I ended up taking a real life road trip which made me appreciate the logistics behind it and the story it told. Pure early 00’s vibes in a progressive rogue like game.

My other game – a high score challenge – is Zeta Wing II. Which I _love_. The arcade shoot Gemini Wing is a huge favourite of mine and I played the C64 conversion back in the day a lot. Zeta Wing II is very similar but bang up to date. Love love love it.

  2. I’ve been enjoying Blue Prince enormously. But now with the release of Oblivion Remastered I’m about to relive one of my most significant formative gaming experiences… The extended trailer video talked about how they tried to keep the “charm” of the original so I look forward to playing through it, jank and all.

  3. Oblivion remaster.

One of my favourite games ever made. Fundamentally flawed with how level scaling works, but the story and setting I always found way more immersive than Skyrim.

The remaster brings the graphics back in line with how I remember the game looked 20 years ago.

  4. Got Sniper Elite 4.

I should get a few hours out of it.

Fallout 76. Trying on pc after playing on it xbox a ways back.

It’s baffling. You can have fun but you sort of need to design your own  blinkers to focus on your objective.

  5. I finished replaying **Ghost of Tsushima** and now have restarted **The Witcher 3**. Love it, and am able to whistle through a lot of the side quests.

  6. Decided to jump into ESO after last playing it at launch. Is good fun so far.

  7. Baldurs Gate and Patch 8. Fuck me, Hexblade Warlock is good fun. I’m enjoying battering people into non-existence with it.

  8. Oblivion Remaster as of yesterday.

Still plotting through South of Midnight, genuinely think this is somewhat of a flawed masterpiece.

And ofc as always Sea of Thieves

  9. after months of applying finally had a job interview yesterday and they offered my the job during the interview ! thankfully caught a break and found a new job ! i have applied for jobs since december last year so i can finally relax and not worry so much

  10. I used to forgo sleep to play Oblivion. When I did sleep, the slightest disturbance waking me up wouldn’t send me back to sleep, I’d wake up and think “I need to get to Skingrad, that man needs his Nirnroot” or whatever.

At work now but got the Oblivion remaster downloading at home, could not be more excited to hear Patrick Stewart again, the music, the NPC “who goes there” “hello” lines, the dialogue mini game, everything. Let alone the end cutscene, dark brotherhood storyline (lucien, my man)

They conditioned me in 2007/2008 and activated the sleeper system yesterday. Lined up and ready to part with my money

also just remembered Umbra. can’t wait to see that sword in HD, after spending 6 hours luring her to a city so the guards can help me take her down (that’ll still be the strat… right?)

    Ahh Nostalgia man

  11. **Oblivion** as of yesterday, which I guess a lot of people are going to be saying, especially as it’s available on GamePass too.

Other than that I went back and reinstalled **MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries** to give it another go after not being overly thrilled with it the first time round.

  12. Still playing through Assassins Creed: Shadows, but like everyone else… as of yesterday, I started Oblivion Remastered

  13. I’ve just finished the Outer Worlds for the first time (not bad! 6/10, for me the story was a wee bit lacklustre), and I spent 4 hours waiting for oblivion to download yesterday so I’m gonna dive into that for the first time today. I’ve sunk a disgusting amount of hours into Skyrim so it should be good!

  14. Last Epoch

New patch and season dropped last week and as I’d never played it before, jumped in. Not had much time to play but enjoying it so far, and as always I keep restarting a new character to see all the different skils

  15. Been absolutely loving just playing **Half Life 2** again. They released an RTX demo recently so it piqued my curiosity.

Downloaded a few little mods for a bit of a difficulty increase and it’s been wonderful getting stuck into a single player game again! Nearly at the final Citadel now so almost time to start the following episodes.

Draws me away from the doom and gloom I get from **Dota 2** at least…

  16. Assassin’s Creed 2 is fun, glad I bought it when I saw it for 2.50

But since everyone’s getting the oblivion remaster, maybe I’ll get the OG if it’s cheap xD

  17. Halo MCC mods mainly. Namely Cursed Halo Again for Combat Evolved, and What If? and The Blilent Blartographer for Halo 2.

One of my mates has not long got MCC too so we’re going to do some co-op when we get the time.

I’ve also been reliving my teenage years by playing some multiplayer Halo 2 and 3. Team Slayer BRs mainly – I feel so dirty noob comboing people, but if it works for everyone else (and for me on Legendary campaign)…

*Also finished off the last 2 missions of CE I had left to do on Legendary. Truth & Reconciliation was absolutely horrific, The Maw was somewhat easy. Only saved The Maw until last so I could get the Legendary ending.

  18. It’s taking every fibre of my being to resist purchasing Oblivion remaster until I’ve finished up Yakuza: Like a Dragon (which is a great game btw)

  19. Kingdom Come: Deliverance on the Switch. Played it on PC when it came out, and I got it on sale for the switch. Graphics are slightly annoyingly inconsistent, and it crashed once, making me lose progress, but overall, really enjoying getting back into it.

  20. Oblivion Remaster! So excited for it and happy it is here

  21. Been playing turmoil for the last couple of days, I’m struggling to find the motivation to even fire anything up sadly

  22. Been playing through final fantasy pixel remaster collection recently but will be putting that on pause for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 tomorrow as that game looks immense!

Also had a sneaky go on Oblivion Remastered last night and it felt real good playing a classic again with decent graphics this time

  23. THE FINALS is the current game of choice. Utter insanity, with the most impressive destruction system I’ve ever seen in an FPS.

Want to demolish the entire map down to the foundations? Go for it!

Want to dress as a cross-dressing, panda-headed lunatic with a sledgehammer? We’ve got you covered!

Want gameplay that isn’t just search & destroy? Done!

Want colour, action and pace? For free – including free cosmetics every season because why not?

It manages to mix insanity with competition, somehow, and it’s glorious.

  24. I’ve been playing Thank Goodness You’re Here based on it winning the British Game award at the BAGAs the other week. It’s a wonderfully surreal little adventure with great British humour and setting. Definitely recommend! You don’t have to be Northern to enjoy it.

(It’s maybe not got a great price-to-gameplay-hours ratio, if that bothers you at all, but I feel like I’m still massively in profit from Baldur’s Gate so I was happy to overlook that.)
