  1. Head to Stangford and get the ferry over to Portaferry and take the peninsula home. Lovely wee drive.

On the upper end of your limit but if you’ve a nice day go to Wicklow and do a walk around glendaloch then drive back towards Dublin on old military road it drives almost all the way through the Wicklow mountains, plenty of other nice drives you can do around there along the mountains or the coast,

  3. Within 3 hours of Portadown you’ve most of the Island

    Get a Michelin road atlas and pick out the green routes, just too many to list

  4. Fermanagh… round the lakes, out through Kesh towards Belleek, and up Lough Navar forest drive to the viewpoint…

  5. I lived in Northern Ireland for half my life, and only last year did I explore the Sperrins. Very beautiful. Friendly wee villages, too.

    You’ll find something in almost any compass direction. We forget how lucky we are to have such diverse beauty in such a small area.
