(I've used figure from the-numbers and boxofficemojo)
The very first Star Wars was really unprecedented in terms of return on investment.
If you want to see more interesting Star Wars related-charts, I'll humbly share a video I've made about statistics linked to the saga: https://youtu.be/vUFDtF1b1ZM

A graph needs labels, or else the source might as well be “trust me bro”
What is the budget measured in? Pennies?
This could be explained in a hundred ways. Space movies were still novel, they were bound to put more butts in seats. People had more spending money. Budgets go up because people expect a better looking movie. If 4/5/6 came out today no one would watch due to the look and polish alone.
What is the top of that adjusted growth line? What is the bottom? Are gross and budget the same scale? What do the colors mean (its obvious if you know starwars, but should still be included). There needs to be some sort of axis marks and a legend.
You should also include what “adjusted” means in your post, as it could be normalization or a more complex method.
really like the lack of numbers here nice
